The Festival Gastronômico – Edição Ucrânia, the third edition of the event, took place in June 2016, at the Ópera de Arame. The production involved several things like a cooking course, a gastronomy and handicrafts fair, a Theatre-Musical Play and a show with Big Time Orchestra – a famous Brazilian band.
The play mixed the 80’s visual with a touch of the Ukrainian tradition. With three acts, three original songs and a lot of the eighties’ success revivals, this comedy was involving and touching for all kind of audiences.
For the lighting, a non-realistic, but cheerful and colourful scenes and a cyc linking the cast and the set with the almost 120 feet wide projection screen, that was mapped with Resolume Arena. All the graphic-motion videos were constructed to fill the poetics of the play, a Cinderella-like fantasy, told from a book by a storyteller – and for that, all the transitions between the scenes were made to seem a pop-up book.
